Spring 2010
There's something for everyone this spring!
Designers are feeling blue this season, and the blues never looked so good! Blue has it covered, from denim to patent leather, and you're sure to find a shade that suits you. In addition to blue, pastels are back in a big way. Think vivid color and bold patterns! Mix and match floral, geometric and digital prints. ...and if shocking color isn't your thing, try neutrals (specifically camel, khaki, pale pinks, light grey and white).
It's time to recover from cold weather, short days and a sluggish economy. It's time for a vacation! ...and while you can't be on vacation all the time, you certainly can dress the part! Nautical themes (clean lines, bold stripes and navy blue/red/white combos) have made their way into more than one spring collection, and sailing isn't the only water sport inspiring designers. Fashions influenced by scuba and surf wear have also made an appearance on runways. Get the look by trying something skin tight in black or bright color/black combo. If you're not quite ready to rock a wetsuit look-alike, try introducing a little tie dye into your wardrobe.
Feminine sportswear is a must have for spring. Try pairing trousers with a ruffled or lingerie inspired blouse--perhaps something sheer over a basic tank.
If you're searching for something more casual, try a utilitarian or military inspired look. Shirt dresses, cargo pockets and light weight military jackets in shades of olive and khaki will be big this spring. Create the look with a khaki suit, oversized tee and sandals.
Platforms are still in--from strappy heels to clogs, but make sure to add a pair of low or mid-height wedges to your wardrobe. Modest wedges are promising to be a popular and versatile staple for spring and summer. Try the 'Mid-Wedge' by Jack Rogers or the 'Fulton Mid-Wedge' by Michael Kors.
